General, family transferred accounts to friends, says senator

MANILA, Philippines – A Senate investigation on Thursday revealed that the family of former military comptroller Jacinto Ligot had allegedly transferred several of their bank accounts to various individuals.
During the hearing of the blue ribbon committee investigating the fund scam in the military, Senator Franklin Drilon disclosed that Ligot, his wife, Erlinda, and children Paulo and Rizza transferred their accounts to a certain Hilda Velazquez, and a certain Maria Cristina Mercado Laurel and husband, Antonio Castillo Laurel.
Drilon said the information was based on the report made by the Anti-Money Laundering Council.
The senator made the disclosure while he was questioning Edgar Yambao, brother in law of Ligot.
Responding to Drilon's query if he knew Cristina Mercado Laurel, Yambao said yes, saying that she was the wife of his friend, Antonio Castilo Laurel.
“Sa aking pagsusuri ay isa po [Si Cristina] sa mga personalties kung saan nilipat yung account ng mga ligot...” said Drilon.
“Wala pong katotohanan yan,”said Yambao, saying that he had talked to the couple about it because the matter was part of a case filed before the Sandiganbaayan.
But Drilon went on saying that the AMLC report showed that some bank accounts belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Ligot and children, Paulo and Rizza, had been transferred to Velazquez and the Laurels.

Roach told the Inquirer that “if Mayweather did come to the table, after beating him I would love to see Manny retire on that note but this guy is just playing games.”
Roach said he is convinced that Pacquiao is still getting better even as he took issue with those who have suggested that if he doesn’t fight Mayweather, Pacquiao should retire.
The celebrated trainer remarked, “why should he retire? He is in his prime. He just fought the best fight of his life (against Antonio Margarito.)”
Roach conceded that Margarito hurt Pacquiao “a couple of times” in their November 13 WBC light middleweight title fight but that was because Margarito “was 17 pounds heavier and a big guy. And this big guy put pressure on him all night long. It was Manny’s hardest fight, physically. He came out with his hands hurting a little bit because he landed so many shots and his side is a little sore. But he fought a big, strong guy.”
In a recent conference in Manila on “Boxing and the Brain” in which several neuro surgeons and specialists as well as renowned ring doctors from the US and Britain discussed sports-related head injuries and wondered whether Pacquiao should fight if its not Mayweather. Arum admitted that brain injuries are “a very big concern but that’s why at the start of every year he (Pacquiao” must take the finest possible MRI brain tests to make sure that there is no abnormality and that nothing bad has happened.”
Arum stressed that this is a “different issue and that issue is certainly always going to be there and always before he starts fighting for the New Year and before he gets into the ring in May, Manny will have a full test in the US.”
The astute Top Rank promoter who arrived in Manila early Tuesday morning to discuss Pacquiao’s next fight and his future in boxing as well as to attend Pacquiao’s 32nd birthday bash admitted that Pacquiao “is going to take poundings now in all of his fights because he is fighting naturally bigger guys. He fights as a welterweight but he is much smaller than the normal welterweight.”

Serial rape and murder accused Jack Mogale told the High Court in Johannesburg on Wednesday that he knew nothing of the rape, murder and kidnapping charges against him.

“I know nothing about these matters,” he replied to a question by defence counsel advocate Buhle Madondo.

Mogale faces 61 charges of, among other things, rape, murder and kidnapping carried out in Westonaria and Lenasia in 2008 and 2009.

Madondo also asked Mogale about the events of March 17 2008, when he left Westonaria Magistrate's Court after a case against him was postponed.

The court previously heard that he was on a train when he bumped into Emelina Mhangwani, a woman he later allegedly assaulted, robbed of her cellphone, raped and killed.

Judge Frans Kgomo asked Mogale if he remembered speaking to Mhangwani.

Mogale said: “I was very tired after attending court. When people talk to me I do not remember it. I don't remember talking to anyone on my way home.”

Wearing a blue, collared shirt without a tie, he rocked back and forth while on the stand.

“I alighted at Waterworks station, from there I went home,” he said. -

Sexual harrasment

Sexual banter is normal among people and we Pinoys are especially well-versed in green jokes, suggestive statements and double entendres.  However, there is a limit to everything, especially in the workplace. 
As an employee, you are protected against sexual harassment from co-workers, visitors and yes, even your boss, no matter how high his/her rank is in the organization.  So just because YOU are protected doesn’t mean others aren’t.  If you’re incredibly careless and tactless about the way words leave your tongue or the way you deal with others physically, you could be on the receiving end of a sexual harassment charge.
Getting slapped by a sexual harassment claim can be very embarrassing and troublesome, depending on the seriousness of the situation.  It could brand you for a really long time, get you kicked out of a good job, ruin your relationships with your colleagues and superiors and even cause trouble in your family.

Sexual assault can be verbal, visual, or anything that forces a person to join in unwanted sexual contact or attention. Examples of this are voyeurism(when someone watches private sexual acts), exhibitionism (when someone exposes him/herself in public), incest (sexual contact between family members), and sexual harassment. It can happen in different situations, by a stranger in an isolated place, on a date, or in the home by someone you know.
Rape is a common form of sexual assault. It is committed in many situations—on a date, by a friend or an acquaintance, or when you think you are alone. Educate yourself on "date rape" drugs. They can be slipped into a drink when a victim is not looking. Never leave your drink unattended—no matter where you are. Try to always be aware of your surroundings.Date rape drugs make a person unable to resist assault and can cause memory loss so the victim doesn't know what happened.

The term "sexual addiction" is used to describe the behavior of a person who has an unusually intense sex drive or an obsession with sex. Sex and the thought of sex tend to dominate the sex addict's thinking, making it difficult to work or engage in healthy personal relationships.
Sex addicts engage in distorted thinking, often rationalizing and justifying their behavior and blaming others for problems. They generally deny they have a problem and make excuses for their actions.
Sexual addiction also is associated with risk-taking. A person with a sex addiction engages in various forms of sexual activity, despite the potential for negative and/or dangerous consequences. In addition to damaging the addict's relationships and interfering with his or her work and social life, a sexual addiction also puts the person at risk for emotional and physical injury.
For some people, the sex addiction progresses to involve illegal activities, such as exhibitionism (exposing oneself in public), making obscene phone calls, or molestation. However, it should be noted that sex addicts do not necessarily become sex offenders.

Perhaps, we could consider this as a mental illness which is actually due fron inheritance or on the developmental psychology of the individual, we could consider the environment and the material that he belongs to and he has been encountering upon his/her gowing period.
